Wyong Gold Cup
This year's Wyong Gold Cup is certainly shaping up as Spring highlight for the progressive Central Coast Club in which the Clout Stable will hope to have their first runner in the prestigious event. "Convair" will be amongst the local horses nominated for this years Cup.
His run at Warwick Farm in Saturday class was full of merit & he's certainly fit enough to run out a strong 2100m.

The other stable runner during the Cup Carnival will be "Shadeed" in the 1350m Mdn on Thursday. He will appreciate the step up in distance as his previous start was over the unsuitable 1100m at Scone. He is by the same sire as "Tuesday Joy" in Carnegie and this breed certainly like to get over some ground.

Girls looking for Spring
Our two glamour girls of the stable returned from their winter breaks ready for their spring campaigns.
"Bergamot" & "Mondial Dame" are both 3 year old fillies & are the "Glamour girls" of the stable.
They have both progressed well through their education & trials and are both on track for a big spring, "Bergamot" has a full sister who is with Peter Snowden & raced by Darley named "Effeminate" & has a win & 2nd placing from 6 starts. The other filly "Mondial Dame" is a Wyong trial winner & is by the same sire as Chris Waller's outstanding performer "Triple Honour" in "Honours List".

Great result at Scone
Scone last Friday saw a great day for our Stable in which "Racers Jewel" went ever so close to breaking her maiden status in the 2nd race, she raced up to her fine performance at her prior start at Cesssnock where she ran 3rd.
She seemed to appreciate the extra distance & bigger track at Scone & a win is not far off for her.

Another runner on Friday was the Carnegie gelding "Shadeed", he was resuming after a slight let-up & was in a unsuitable 1100m sprint, he settled well at the rear of the field after barrier rise & turning for home was sneaking up along the rails to make a dashing run to the line to be beaten less than 4 lengths. His turn won't be far away over a little more ground.

Rusty "shines"
New comer to our Stable is the Grey "Rusty Toy", he gets his name from his unusual marking on or near his shoulder, which look as if they are rust marks on his grey coat. He is fast becoming a popular figure around the Wyong track.
With his ghostly appearance in the early dawn not many people can miss him, his first start for the Clout stable was dissapointing due to the fact he stood in the stalls & gave the rest of the field 5 lengths start, "not a good thing to do" when your chasing a subsequent city winner in "Disciplined". However he was much better away at his next start at Muswellbrook just failing to run down the winner "Adams Eve" to run a gallant & much improved 2nd.

Veteran Retired
Stable favourite Can You Dance has been retired at the ripe of age of 10 years, "Fred" as he is affectionately know around the stables was an owners dream. Having come to the Michael Clout stable a class 3 horse, he worked his way through the grades to Open company beating some handy horses along the way. One of his best wins was the 2007 Taree Cup prelude in which he defeated the well performed galloper "Precise Timing" in all he had 54 starts for the Clout stable in which he won 7 races & 12 minor placings, he was never far from a pay cheque in finishing in the 1st five 30 times.
His total prize-winnings was just under the $100,000 mark at $95,540.
He will now be assisting in the education of the younger horses in our stable in his retirement.

Jimmy Fortunes spells
Choisir Gelding Jimmy Fortunes has been sent to the paddock following his 2nd placing to unbeaten 2 yr old  "The Bargain" at Scone recently.

Showing continued Improvment through his preparation the spell is expected to see Jimmy return a more powerful geliding and ready to contest the 3 year old races in the Spring. We expect him to be very competitive as he races over the longer distances.

Fillies set to trial at Gosford
Mondial Dame and Bergamot having their first prepartion for the stable will trial at Gosford on Thursday 26th June.

The 2 year old Fillies have thrived since arriving at Wyong and have both been impressive in recent Jump outs.

Can you Dance set for Taree
Following a spate of cancelled meetings due to wet weather CYD heads to Taree on Sunday 22nd June for a ratings 77 1600m.
The 9 year old finally gets the conditions to suit following disappointing runs on firmer tracks he should rellish the going in a heavy 8 at Taree. He loves the track having won last years Taree Cup prelude and his recent work has been outstanding. With a Claim for Luke Cumberland the stable expects the strong shoing from the old boy.

Hunter Flight will also contest a 1600m Maiden hcp.

Jimmy seeks fortune at Wyong
Choisir gelding Jimmy Fortunes (Jimmy)  is engaged in Race 2 at  Wyong  on Thursday 29th May.
Jimmy had his first career start at Muswellbrook last Monday week in an effort to gain a start in the Inglis 2yr old classic at Scone. Unsuited by the 1000m Jimmy was beaten for early pace and made up a large amount ground to finish seventh.
The run hardened him up and drawn barrier 1 and Robert Thompson to ride the horse will be prominent in the finish.

convair returns at taree on monday
carnegie stayer convair makes his return from a spell at taree on monday. the 1400m ratings 75 provides a neat return for concvair who will be at his best over 2400m this time in.stable mate and carnegie son shadeed was scratched from todays newcastle meeting to run over 1250m at taree. a strong showing is expected from shadeed whose preparation has been interupted with bad weather. hunter flight will also line up in a 1600m at taree on monday following an unlucky 3.5 legth defeat at newcastle 10 days ago she will be better suited to the easier company and the longer distance. paul goode has been booked to ride all 3 horses.
