Koi Fish ready for Gosford
Invincible Spirit gelding Koi fish will have only his third start for the stable on Thursday 2nd April at Gosford. The promising son of Invincible Spirit has shown signs of possessing ability however imaturity has seen him continue to do a lot wrong in his races. Alan Robinson accompanied him in a barrier trial at Wyong last Friday where he was dominent in winning his trial in the fastest time of the day on rain affected going. Koi Fish will line up in a 3 yr old maiden over 1100 metres at Gosford with Alan Robinson aboard.

Jimmy Fortunes heads to Carbine Club
Jimmy Fortunes' second run back at Newcastle on Saturday 28th March saw him a victim of a small field of only 8 runners. With little pace on up front Jimmy was forced back in the field and set a difficult task. Beaten into 4th place by 2 lengths Jimmy hit the line very strongly as the race became a sit and sprint.
The 1400m hit out has has done wonders for his condition as he continues to track plans to start in the Carbine Club stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday 11th April. The horse has pulled up well, he is very strong and will run out a great 1600m.

"Katobar" wins at Gosford
"Katobar" Didn't take long to join the continuing winners list for the Clout stable when he saluted the judge at Gosford (8th Feb 09), it was only Katobar's 2nd start since joining the stable, his previous effort was a close up 3rd at Wyong behind Prince Dalem. The big "El Moxie" gelding has now had 11 starts with 1 win & 6 minor placings & by the way he won at Gosford there seems to be many more wins in store for him.
Dale Spriggs who is making a hadit of winning on the Clout horses  had  Katobar just camped off the speed at the 600m and made steady ground to overhaul the leader nearing the post.

Life after Racing...
Former Clout Stable Star "Can You Dance" is making a name for himself in the equestrian arena after his retirement from the racetrack last year at the age of 10.
The "Rhythm" gelding who had 10 wins & nearly $100,000 in prizemoney during his racing career was last week awarded Champion Thoroughbred Exhibit at the Morriset show, he was also judged Reserve Champion hack & 2nd place in the Open hack event, he was certainly a stable favourite with our staff & now starting to become a star with his current owner & carer, who is hopeful "Fred" (his nickname) can go on to bigger & better things, who knows we may even see him competing at the Sydney show in Easter. The 2010 2YO search is on

Exciting times, as sales are here.

The recent Magic Millions yearling sales on the Gold Coast heralds the start of this year's search for the top juvenile's for 2010.

In early February the Inglis Classic yearling sales commence with a top catalogue of well bred horses that will offer real value. These are then closely followed by the Easter Sales, where abuyer would need a sizeablebudget to secure a top lot.

History, however, has shown thattop quality horsesacquired at reasonableprices have emerged from in particular the Inglis Classic sales.

The outstanding International galloper & nowCoolmore Stallion "Choisir" was purchased from these sales in 2001for a modest $55,000 & went on to earn approx $1,884,657 on the track before being sold as a Stallion for a reported $15 million.

In more recent times, in 2007, "Whobegotyou" was passed in for $17,500 before being sent to the track &has nowamassed nearly $1.2 million in prizemoney with more racing to come this season.

So if you hope to join the race for a top youngster for next year's slipper orsimplya way in which to have a whole lot of fun with a group of friends inexpensively then Call Michael & have him inspect and selecta lot for you at the Inglis Classic or any of this years yearling sales

"Shadeed" breaks through
The Clout stable produced another staying winner at Gosford races on the 29th Dec, when "Shadeed" (stable name Rob) broke through for his Maiden win. The Carnegie gelding who is a half brother to Gerald Ryan's colt "Mazuka" has taken a little time to hit his straps since arriving at the Wyong stables of Michael Clout, however he was well overdue for this win after a couple of good runs recently at Newcastle & Wyong.

He get's his stable name "Rob" after one of his part-owners in Rob Gregory who also along with his wife Debbie share ownership of another Stable Star in "Convair"
It's hoped that "Shadeed" has now found that winning form & can now go on with the job of picking up a few more staying wins.

"Jimmy has great fortunes at Rosehill"
Jimmy Fortunes broke his Maiden status in fine style at Rosehill last Saturday, however not before surviving a protest by comeback jockey Chris Munce on the second placed getter "Talaana". Munce alleged that "Jimmy Fortunes" shifting out down the straight was enough interference to reverse the placings, however the Stewards were not of the same opinion & quickly declared correct weight.
"Jimmy Fortunes" had been in great form leading into Saturday's race however the jump up in class was a little concerning, but in the run to the line he began to pull away from the opposition & win by 1/2 length.
Ridden by South African jockey Glynn Schofield, he settled midfield before begining his run along the rails to grind out a tradesman like win. For Trainer Michael Clout it gave him his 2nd city win in the last few weeks as he also saddled up recent Canterbury winner "Mondial Dame".

Mondial Dame gets home at Canterbury
3yr old filly Mondial Dame started her racing career off with bang last Wednesday at Canterbury.

Having only her first race start Mondial Dame led from the Barriers to score well.

In the lead up to last Wednesday Mondial Dame had shown good potential with 3 Barrier trial wins from as many trials.

Glyn Schofield rode the filly and was pleased with how well she won despite wanting to look around as she straightened up 2 lengths in front in the short straight at Canterbury.

Mondial Dame will next contest the Platinum Class 2 over 1100m at Gosford on Thursday 27th November.

Good Spring ahead
The Clout stable saddled up three runner's at the trial's at Newcastle last Monday & all three came through with flying colours. The best of them was "Jimmy Fortunes" who has had only three race starts for  two unplaced runs at Muswellbrook & Wyong and a  1.8 length 2nd at Scone back in June, ridden by Alan Robinson he won his trial in fine fashion in a slick sectional time of 34.50 for an overall time of 49.70.
"Jimmy Fortunes" looks like stepping up to the grade this time in & it doesn't appear we will have to wait to long before he breaks through for his maiden win based on what we saw on Monday.

"Mondial Dame" was also a super trial, she has yet to face the starter in her racing career, but she showed all the trademarks of a classy galloper in finishing a short half head 2nd in her trial in a time of 49.00, while her stablemate "Bergamot" who also hasn't had a race start as yet  was 5th in heat 4 of the trials in what was discribed by trainer "Michael Clout" as a great learning experience for her, she learned to race in-between other runners and the sectional time for the trial was outstanding at 34.40

Duo ready to win
Both the recent efforts from the "Clout" stable maiden's at Quirindi on Sunday 21st Sept, suggested that "Rusty Toy" & stablemate "Racer's Jewel" are not far away from a win next start. "Rusty Toy" started in the 1450m and after begining well drifted back to mid-field before Greg Ryan surged him through along the rails to just miss out on the Major prize by 3/4 length, while "Racer's Jewel" was contesting a Class 1 event over 1600m and was always handy to the lead, turning for home she battled away nicely to go under by 1/2 neck. Both horses were much better suited to the firmer going than there previous efforts at Muswellbrook on a heavy track.
